Little Houses in Home Town Fabrics

We do not often get a chance to make models at the store , but these cute fabrics from SweetWater for Moda just kept begging for attention. This is also one of their new patterns and we were able to just get a few cut out and fused before the store closed. We tried heat n bonds new feather weight fusible and can give it a good report card. If you loved the old Aleenes fusible your gonna like it.

Easy Peazy Hot Chocolate Table Topper

Done is such a nice 4 letter word. And some fabrics are just to cute to cut up and that was how I felt about this fabric with all the mugs of hot chocolate. It was no trouble at all to piece and thanks to Mary Dittenber who was kind enough to quilt it for the shop. We will have kits available tomorrow and we can save one for you. Hope to hear from you and thanks for stopping by.

I just can't quilt with out.

Every few years a product comes along that you just can't live with out in the quilting world.
For me it would be Best Press Spray and I really like several of the different scents. What is your favorite scent? They are all very gentle and do not linger to the point of driving you crazy.
I find it really helps when ever you have a seam that just doesn't want to lay down in the direction you want it to. But the very nicest feature is the body it puts into your fabric. Let me know what you like best about it.

Home Town Fabrics by Sweet Water for Moda

These pictures came from samples we saw at Quilt Market in Salt Lake City this past Spring in the Moda booth. And the really good news is we have just received these fabrics by Sweet Water featured in them. The group is called Home Town and you can sure see why. We also have all the precuts in stock, charm packs, jelly rolls, and layer cakes. The colors in this group are very subtle with lots of gray, red, soft blue and butter yellow.

Here is the link to their blog featuring this great group of fabrics. http://sweetwater.typepad.com/makelifesweet/2011/04/welcome-to-ourhometown.html

Fridays Fabulous Fabrics

Here is what Moda has to say about these fun new fabrics that just arrived. Escape the nitty-gritty city streets and sneak off to create your own secret hideaway with Rooftop Garden. Bold, graphic florals, ditsy daisies and dots pop in zesty, modern tones fashioning the ultimate urban retreat lush with style. Faux patchwork even adds a little gypsy flair . We just love them and we hope you do to. All are in stock and available. I think they give you a hint of fall.

Summer House is the lovely debut fabric line by Stephanie Carter for Moda. Stephanie is from Vancover, Canada and her company is named Lily Asbury. She describes these fabrics as a walk through a cottage garden . And she wanted them to have a modern vintage elegance and don't you think she has done a wonderful job. They have been selling quickly so I wanted to share them with you. Here is the link to a free pattern from Moda featuring this collection. http://www.unitednotions.com/fp_summer-house.pdf Thanks for stopping by.

Quick Change Trousers

We featured these cute fabrics in our Friday's Fabulous Fabrics 2 weeks ago. And look how cute these little elastic waist band trousers for little ones turned out. Thanks to Carol at the shop for sewing them. I had this pattern sitting on the back burner just waiting for the right fabrics to come along. I just love that they are reversible and you just roll up the cuff to the length you need for your little one. The picture on the top is actually the view from the back.
