New Baby Quilt featuring Puttin' on the Ritz

The new fabrics from Bunny Hill, Puttin' on the Ritz are so sweet and the colors are very timely. Grey continues to be very popular and the pink and blues in this group are soft and appealing. Thank you to Mary Dittenber who did a great job of quilting it, even though she was a little under the weather. I was very anxious to get this quilt bound.

The whole quilt takes 2 charm packs and just a little more fabric for the borders and binding.

We have Puttin' on the Ritz precuts and bolts in stock, but the charms are going fast. Stop in for yours soon.

We are working on the final touches for our 12 Days of Christmas Event. We will post a new item each day (with a special price). to purchase on the blog starting December 1st running through the 12th. Each day a new item ,( we hope to tempt you). One per customer and limited to stock on hand. You will need to call or e-mail to reserve yours sometime from 8.00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. by e-mail or call during normal business hours . We have gone wild for Batiks

We have been doing some rearranging lately at the store as our Batik area exploded. Now they have their very own wall, so stop in and take a look.

If you need anything from our shop inside the International Quilt Study Center & Museum , next week is their last .So stop by the museum and make your holiday purchases. Saturday is the last day they will be open.

Life is a little crazy right now I know.

We are starting something new for us December 1st through the 12th called the 12 Days of Christmas. Each morning on the blog we will have a special price on a item you can order one of and we will add it to your stocking. The price is only good for that one day from 8:00 to 10:00 and you can e-mail or call in your order. Then the stocking must be picked by the 17th of December or they go back into our inventory. What a World Fabrics

Another picture from Quilt Market. There is way to much great fabric, but we loved this and had to have it. I can just imagine it in a preschool or childs room. The panel at the top coordinates with the map and there are several others we know you will love. This also comes in after the first of the year, but it will be worth the wait.

Francophiles meet French General

I confess to loving all things French. And the Moda booth at quilt market displayed these wonderful quilts featuring French General fabrics by Kari Meng. It is truly a color pallet that is easy on the eyes and soul. We always have a nice selection of French General and constantly add the new collections. The quilt pattern on the lower right with the large triangles just arrived and is waiting for you.

Are you starting your Christmas projects ? The calendar is ticking and the temperatures are dropping. Hopefully that will be all that is dropping for awhile. I am sewing like crazy, but not anxious for snow. Thanks for stopping by.

David Butlers new Quilt Fabric Parson Gray

While at Quilt Market in Houston I always try to attend classes by the fabric designers to get a little insight on there new groups. David Butler, yes Amy's husband is releasing his first line of fabrics called Parson Gray. The wonderful quilt shown here uses the entire collection and the good news is we have ordered the entire line. The sad news is it will not release until after the new year. I thought it was really nice to get a masculine point of view on why he created these and he is hoping that they will go nicely with leather, denim and canvas. They have a very organic feel and fill a big whole in the market. Let us know if you want to be on the list to be notified when they arrive. One of the advantages of going to market is your orders go in first, so we will be at the top for delivery.

Quilt Market Previews

Fresh and clean where words that I would use to describe a lot of the fabrics I saw at Quilt Market. And there is a big swing back to beautiful navy blue and sky blues. I hope you love them as much as I do.

I could live in this beautiful display and we ordered several of these fabrics for delivery after the new year. They had several Ikat fabrics which are pronounced e cat. I have always wondered about that, now don't you feel better to. Knowledge is such a good thing to share.
