Les Amis by Patty Sloniger

Can you see the little foxes on those pennants.
Les Amis was one of the most charming new groups of fabrics we found at Quilt Market last fall.
And Patty, is one of the new designers creating these charming fabrics.

Her booth was full of cute ideas showing off her fabrics.
If only we could sew as fast as we can dream.
Have you noticed all the foxes on Pinterest lately?
Well there are several here too.

This baby quilt features the collection in the blue, green, and grey color way.

This cute chair was recovered with her adorable tree fabric and then
painted to coordinate. I bet you have a chair you could recover.
The pillow on the chair is done with the Cathedral window pattern.

These are close ups of prints from the collection.
Love those owls.

The tree fabric has so much charm.
Look at  all the cute little woodland animals.
More gray, and its still selling well.

Owls are every where.
So many ideas so little time.
 Cute little baby shoes.

A closeup of the baby shoes.
We have the blue fox fabric in stock also.
You could make these and they would be a sweet baby gift.

It has been along time since we had a turtle fabric this cute.
I hope you love this group as much as we do.

If you are looking for fabrics for a baby quilt, come take a look at

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy sewing, Janeese

Well worth the wait .2wenty-Thr3e for Moda

These wonderful precuts arrived from Moda today.
They where by far some of the best and freshest designs in the market
and are spot on for colors.

Eric and Julie Comstock of Cosmo Cricket fame are the designers.

You gotta love all those dots and lot and lots of gray.

I just had to share these pictures I took in the Moda booth at quilt market.
Do you love the quilt with
the big circles?

Another wonderful quilt featuring this collection 2wenty-Thr3e.

How fun is this quilt. And it looks so different cut up into smaller pieces.
I hope you will take a look at this collection.
Right now the precuts are in stock and the bolts
will be arriving in about 3o days.
Happy quilting, Janeese

Why not ask for a gift certificate from the Calico House for Valentines day.
Just a thought.

The crab made me do it.

I just could not resist this little
houndstooth crab from the moment I first saw him at quilt market.
He is designed by one of my fabric fabric designers Laura Wisbrun.
All her fabrics have a fun little twist to them.
Here is a link to her blog  http://lauriewis.blogspot.com/

The name of the group is Don't be Crabby.
Bright clear colors with a nautical theme.
Ane there is that little crab again.
Now to choose a pattern, I was inspired by the free pattern that Robert Kaufman
fabrics provided for this collection.
And after tweaking that pattern, it was time to send it off for quilting.

I asked my friend and customer  Mary Valaika to
quilt it for me.
We discussed many options for the quilt designs and agreed  on little anchors and waves.
Mary did a great job and she let me take her picture today.

Here is a closeup of the quilting.

I love to bind quilts and it is always the nicest feeling when that last stitch goes in.
Hope you are all  finding time to quilt, it has been cold here and the sewing room has been a perfect
place to be. Janeese
