Good things come to those who wait

Some times do you find a print you love but your just not sure what you would make with it? Well that was just how I felt about this sunny yellow and blue happy cotton print. I loved the design and colors and was willing to find just the right project. So while cleaning my sewing room I found a pattern I loved and needed to try.

The results are this fun flat iron travel case I thought would be good for graduation or mothers day gifts. I had never sewn with the silver fabric you use for ironing board covers but that was what they used on the inside and it was easy with no special needles required. I used blue painters tape to mark my quilting lines and the 1½ inch width worked great.
Hope you like it, I love bias cut binding and because of the curved top flap that was a necessity. But stripes are always so cute on the bias any way.
