Our builder this week is Amy. You will see her at the store on Saturdays. She makes a lot of baby quilts!
How cute is this? Do you love the mailbox. Me too.

We asked Amy to tell us what she loves about her current or childhood neighborhood.
The neighborhood I grew up in out in the country was surrounded by family on three sides of our acreage. The sense of security and safety was immensely comforting. The different houses and especially their kitchens were warm and inviting. Just general small town goodness!
We also asked Amy to share a favorite recipe.
We also asked Amy to share a favorite recipe.
Grandma's crunchy corn salad
2 cans yellow kernel corn, drained (or four cups frozen corn, thawed and drained)
1 green bell pepper, diced (approximately 1 cup)
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1 cup mayonnaise
8 ounce block of cheddar cheese, shredded (approximately 2 cups)
Chili cheese flavored Frito-Lay corn chips
Mix together all but the corn chips.
If you are serving right away you can add the corn chips. If not, wait until just before serving to stir in the chips so they stay nice and crispy. I didn't use a full bag so use your judgement as to how many you like.
It tastes just as good the second day although it loses its corn chip crunch. Sprinkle on a couple more crushed pieces and you'll be back in corn salad heaven!
We would love to see your progress. And be sure to check out other neighbor hood houses at
