This weekend I decided to go shopping and partake in a little retail therapy. It was all so innocent when I spotted this plate at Von Mauer's by Dena Designs. It was love at first sight. And it was so little and cute.
Well, I thought you know I think I have some of her fabrics Sunshine byDena for Free Spirit. They are available in several colors and are 54" wide. Do you like tickings? I am a sucker for them, really. I bet I could make some napkins to go with my little plate.
Once I got started it kind of snowballed. They needed rick rack, oh I can have several colors. I like to cut mine 18 inch square and I turn them under a ¼" and another ¼" for the hems. Hint:
I always use a little fray check on the ends of my rick rack to keep it from fraying. It will dry clear and I think it really helps. Do you do something else on the ends?
These fun paper place mats were on sale a while back at Anthropology and came in a tablet you just tear off. (Resistance is futile.) Some times you buy things when you're not sure when you will use them.
So if you need a little innocent project, napkins are fun and would be a nice gift for Mothers Day. Thanks for stopping by.
