Building permit #7

This weeks house block was made by Sandy. She works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
All of our houses feature Moda's Grunge and Hey Dot collections.
The back ground is Moda's Bella white. Which you will need 4 1/4 yards of if  you want to use one fabric .

Here is what Sandy said she loves about her neighborhood.

Here is why I love my "neighborhood": My neighbors are an orchard of apples, pears and peaches to the south, a dog kennel were Jake (our German Shorthair) lives and keeps watch over the place to the west, a corn field that is rented to a local farmer and a very long driveway to the north, and a large pond full of catfish to the east. There aren't any neighbors close enough to see from the house but I'm kept company by fresh air breezes, Canadian geese, and visiting deer all year long. Mostly I love the quiet and peace of country living!

We also asked the staff to provide a favorite recipe to share.

Man sized monster cookies

*Melt together 1/2 c. margarine & 2-1/2 squares chocolate (or substitute 1/2 c. cocoa & 2-1/2 T. shortening for chocolate squares). Beat in: 1 c. sugar. Set aside. * Beat together: 1 t. vanilla & 2 eggs. Set aside. *Sift together: 2 c. flour, 1 t. baking powder, and 1/2 t. soda. *Add egg mixture and dry ingredients alternately to chocolate mixture, mixing well after each addition. * Drop large tablespoons full of batter (which looks like brownie batter) on ungreased cookie sheets and bake @350 for 2 minutes. Cookies will be large and can be frosted with your favorite chocolate frosting for an even tastier treat.

We hope you are taking a peak at all the fun houses at #modabemyneighbor.

We have a new class Saturday, November 12th on How to Choose your quilt design. It is a 3 hour class with Mary Valaika. A perfect class to help you with all those unquilted items you
just can't decide how to quilt.

Happy sewing. Janeese
